Percentage staking is one of my prefered method's, your stake reduces on bad runs, and increases on good runs. There is also the fact that you cannot bust your bank using this staking plan. Chosing what percentage to set is pretty much personal preferance, however i have listed the percentages i prefer to stake at below. However like i say it is personal preferance, and what risk you are willing to accept. I tend to prefer a less 'profit maximising' high percentage stake in favour of less risky / safer, lower percentage plan. I would reccomend that you should never stake above 5% as it is very risky.
75%+ = 5%
60%+ = 4%
50%+ = 3.5%
40%+ = 3.25%
30%+ = 3%
25%+ = 2.25%
20%+ = 2%
15%+ = 1%
Anything lower use level stakes, or possibly sub 1%.
Implementing this plan is pretty simple, especially if you are using a spreadsheet. You just work out the % of your bank to stake. i,e, £100 bank - 3% stakes = £3 stake. you can re-calculate the stake after every bet, or if you have many bets the same day you could use the same stake for all bets, and re-calculate the stake every day.
There are many ways of finding the optimum percentage to stake, but the above guidelines are good enough to start off with. if you don't know the strike rate of your selections, then 3% is a good figure to use.
This is another staking method that i quite like. Similar to the '% staking' as above, but instead of using just one % for each selection you have the flexibility of using different percentages for different types of bet, depending on confidence levels, odd's etc.... below is an example of how you could set up your bank and staking:
A+ - 5%
A - 4%
B - 3%
C - 2%
D - 1%
How you rate each selection is personal preferance, but as a guide the A+ bets with the biggest % stakes will be on selections that you think ar near certainties to win, wheras the D bets with the lowest stakes, may just be speculative bets on outsiders.
However a downside of this kind of staking plan is that some will argue that having 5 different betting banks would be preferable; one bank for A+ bets, another for A bets etc.....
